Main responsibilities

As part of our dedicated Events Team, you’ll:

  • Lead and deliver national recreational festivals and competitions, working closely with delivery partners, clubs, volunteers, and venues.
  • Create positive experiences by ensuring every event is safe, welcoming, and well-organised for participants, spectators, and staff.
  • Coordinate planning and logistics, including venue bookings, equipment, volunteers, officials, accommodation, and marketing materials.
  • Act as the onsite Event Manager, supporting a smooth and enjoyable event experience for all involved.
  • Line manage and support the Events Officer & Events Systems Officer, providing day-to-day guidance, encouragement and professional development.
  • Support the delivery of major gymnastics events, with a focus on inclusive practice and operational excellence.
  • Champion safety and wellbeing, promoting British Gymnastics’ values and safeguarding standards at all times.

About you

We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Experience managing events or community programmes, ideally in a sport, leisure or arts setting.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt when needed.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, including experience working with a wide range of people.
  • A collaborative, solutions-focused approach and a willingness to get involved at every level.
  • Knowledge of gymnastics or other participation-based activities is preferable
  • A relevant qualification in event management (or equivalent experience) is desirable but not required.
